MAYETTA, KS. – As Thunder Hill Speedway prepares for this Saturday night’s edition of the Xtreme Motorsports Clash on the Hill, track officials, racers, and fans are eagerly looking forward to the annual Don Garst Memorial. The Garst Memorial is Thunder Hill’s longest-running special and this year’s event marks 19 years celebrating the track’s first-ever flagman, Don Garst. Racers across the Midwest have fond memories of the man who was a friend to nearly everyone he met and also one of the best short-track flagmen in the area.
The Garst family has added to the Modified and Hobby Stock class purses making the winner’s share $1000 for the IMCA Xtreme Motorsports Modifieds presented by BSB manufacturing and $500 for the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks presented by the Kansas National Guard.
